La Porte Independent School District |
To Whom It May Concern:
La Porte Independent School District was the benefactor of a wonderful inservice this past week. Ms. Jackie Pflug graced us with her own personal and perilous life journey.
I have been in education my entire adult life. I have sat through uncomfortable speeches, presentations, inservices and training sessions. NEVER have I observed a room so entirely captivated and engrossed by an individual. Not one person was disengaged. Not one person was working on tomorrow's lesson, drawing team plays, or reading next week's schedule! Let me assure you that this rapt attention is not easily earned; frankly, teachers are a tough (and discerning) audience!
Personally, I was equally intrigued. Jackie's delivery is outstanding. Her underlying motivational message is brutally clear; yet subtle enough for the narrative to command total concentration. It is only with reflection and empathy that her real focus becomes clear.
This type of inservice was somewhat of a departure from our staff; but, one which they have appreciated and internalized. Over the last (just) two (2) days, we have received dozens of appreciative emails and thank you notes with many more verbal compliments.
Her message is irrefutable.
I can recommend Ms. Pflug to any type of group or organization. Regardless of credo or organizational focus, you will be spellbound--and greatly moved.
Sincerely,
John E. Sawyer, Ed.D.
